Who runs ChatBox

ChatBox is an independent movie and TV discussion service. For questions about personal information, contact the operator using the address below.

Information we use

• Accounts: your email address, authentication details, public display name, and account creation information. Supabase handles passwords and sign-in sessions.
• Discussions: comments, replies, spoiler labels, timestamps, likes, and the movie or episode they belong to. These are associated with your account.
• Reports: the reported comment, reason, time, and reporting account. Reports and moderation records are available to the owner, not other visitors.
• Browser storage: sign-in session information, watchlist selections, saved title details, and display preferences. Clearing browser storage removes your local watchlist and can sign you out.
• Service records: our hosting, authentication, and email providers may process IP addresses, request information, security logs, and email delivery events.

Why we use it

To provide accounts and discussions, remember your session, deliver confirmation and password-reset emails, respond to requests, investigate reports, and protect the service against abuse.

What others can see

Your display name, comments, replies, posting times, and like counts are visible to people who can access the discussion. When ChatBox opens to the public, those discussions can be viewed and copied by anyone. Do not post private information about yourself or anyone else. Your email and reporter identity are not included in public comment responses.

Providers and external content

We use Supabase for accounts, Resend for account emails, and the Sites hosting platform and Cloudflare storage for the website and discussion data. Movie and episode information comes from TMDb and selected TVmaze data. Images, fonts, and browser libraries may load from outside providers, which receive network request information. Providers may process information outside your country.

Advertising

ChatBox does not currently include advertising or advertising trackers. We plan to support the site with ads. Before adding advertising providers or new tracking, we will update this notice and provide any required choices.

Retention and deletion

Account and discussion data are retained while needed to operate the service. Deleting your comment removes its text from public display while preserving replies. A moderator removal can retain a private copy for abuse review. Reports, moderation records, service logs, and backups may remain while needed for safety, dispute handling, service recovery, or legal obligations. Copies saved by other visitors are outside our control.

Your choices

You can change your display name, delete your own comments, sign out, and clear your browser watchlist. Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information, or to raise a privacy concern. We may verify account ownership before acting. Account deletion is currently handled by contacting the operator.

Young visitors

ChatBox accounts are intended for people aged 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the service with permission from a parent or guardian. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 has supplied personal information.
